Ethiopian Opal Ring / Sterling Silver Double Band Adjustable Ring / October Birthstone Gift

Pretty, minimal ethiopian Opal ring. This statement piece is comfortable to wear, and strong enough for everyday use. It will make a beautiful, original gift for someone special or to yourself.

A simple and elegant sterling silver ring with an attractive double band ring shank, featuring beautiful quality, genuine 5mm smooth ethiopian opal cabochon set in a bezel setting. This ring is not a fixed size and can be adjusted, but is most suited to sizes UK L (US 6 , EU 51 1/2) to UK O (US 7 1/2 , EU 55 1/4).

These AA+ graded, genuine Ethiopian opals have an excellent fire going right across the colour spectrum when viewed in sunlight. These are high quality with each one having a superb play of colour or opalescence commonly associated with opals. Vibrant flashes of fire run through these semi precious gems; greens, blues, ultra-violets and reds. These opals look particularly special when held in the light and their true opal fire radiates from within.

Opal is the traditional birthstone for October and the star sign of Libra. It symbolises purity, hope and truth. Traditionally people gift opals on 14th wedding anniversaries, but today some also consider it the alternative gem for 12th anniversaries.

One of the many legends that surround the opal is an ancient Australian aboriginal story about the creator of the universe. According to the tale, the deity descended to Earth on a rainbow. Where he touched the ground, the stones began to shine in every imaginable colour and that’s how opals were born. Later on when opals reached ancient Europe, people continued to believe they had magical powers.

OPAL is a 14th Anniversary gemstone.

Whilst this is common sense, I would remind you that repeatedly adjusting the size by bending the wire open and closed will weaken & damage the metal, so I would suggest gently squeezing the ring to fit your finger on the first wear and then sliding it over your knuckles as you would a regular closed ring band.
