New Collection & Exhibition in Edinburgh July - August 2026

A Collection That Feels Like Mine

Over the past year, every project during my Fine Jewellery Diploma became more than an opportunity to learn a new technique.

With each piece, I felt a stronger need to make it my own. Not simply to practise a process, but to leave something of myself in it.

This final collection became a continuation of that journey.

For the first time, I wasn’t trying to create a collection that simply demonstrated what I’d learnt. I was trying to create one that reflected my voice as an artist and jeweller.

Rather than beginning with a finished design, I started with fragments of recycled silver, molten offcuts and countless small experiments. I spent weeks sketching, rearranging elements, making samples and refining every detail. The final designs didn’t come from a drawing - they emerged through making.

Throughout the process I found myself asking different questions.

Not “What technique should I use?”

But “What do I really want to express?”

I realised I was searching for a particular balance - between raw and refined, organic and structured, smooth and textured. I kept adding, removing and rearranging elements until every detail felt like it belonged.

It wasn’t until the collection was almost finished that I recognised the connections with nature. I hadn’t set out to recreate specific rocks or landscapes, yet I found myself returning to the same contrasts that appear throughout the natural world - rough surfaces beside delicate repetitive structures, organic forms interrupted by quiet order, cavities balanced with solid forms.

Creating mood boards afterwards became a way of understanding my own design process and recognising the visual language that had been there all along.

Looking at these three pieces now, I feel they’re the closest I’ve come to making jewellery that truly feels like mine.

I don’t know exactly where this path will lead, but it feels like I’ve finally found the direction I’ve been searching for.

Exhibition in Edinburgh

Before these pieces are sent away for assessment as part of my Fine Jewellery Diploma, they’ll be making one special stop.

I’m delighted to be exhibiting them as part of Life – Moments in Time at ScotArt.

Venue:   ScotArt – St. Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE

Exhibition dates:   17 July – 27 August

Opening Night:   17 July, 6–9 pm

My new diploma collection will only be on display during the opening night and the first weekend (17–19 July), before it is sent away for assessment.

Afterwards, a selection of my other handmade jewellery will remain on display until the end of the exhibition on 27 August.

If you’re in Edinburgh and would like to see this collection in person, I’d recommend visiting during the opening night or over the first weekend. I’d love to welcome you there.

Thank you for following my journey. Your encouragement over the past year has meant more than you probably realise, and I’m excited to share this next chapter with you.
